Have you ever bought something that you had to put together? And, instead of reading the instruction manual, you decided to wing it and do it yourself?
After hours of assembling parts and pieces, the final result was…well, not what you expected?
Since 1980, AB&R® has helped companies across the country with improving their supply chain through technology. Our goal is to achieve customer satisfaction 100% of the time, which is why we offer BarTender Training to make sure the installation process is what you expected.

BarTender Training
When you make the decision to purchase an edition of BarTender, you know you’re getting the best software in the industry. But, before you start installing software and printers, we encourage you to enroll in our two-hour Bartender Training. Here are eight reasons why you should enroll:
1) Software installation and activation
Once you’ve purchased BarTender software, we’ll help you set it up. Our team will walk you through the steps of installing the latest edition on your computer and making sure your software is activated. This is the initial step of getting your organization set up to start creating barcodes and labels in no time.
2) Driver installation for your specific printer
Now that BarTender is installed, the next step is setting up your printer. We offer a wide range of printers designed to fit your particular needs, and each printer typically has their own set of drivers. Our team will help you install the specific drivers needed for your printer and verify you are able to print.
3) Basic template design
Time for the fun part. We’ll walk you through the process of setting up your first template design. BarTender has more than 400 ready-to-use components, which allows you to customize all aspects of your label. Our team will make sure you select the right components and even help you set up images and branding for a professional looking label.
4) Data input assistance
BarTender comes equipped with data-entry forms, which are used to input data at print time on your label. In other words, data-entry forms are pieces of “dynamic” content that changes all the time such as date, time, and weight. As part of our training, we’ll help you identify these pieces of data inputs and help you insert these fields on your label template.
5) Serialized numbers and barcodes
In BarTender, “Serialization” is the feature that allows you to create a unique set of numbers for each label. When printing a series of labels, the need often arises where you need to make sure each product or item you’re labeling has a unique serial number. Our team will help you set up serialized numbers, which can include a combination of letters, numbers, or symbols.
6) Database connectivity
BarTender can connect to almost any database, which enables you to pull data directly from your existing system into your BarTender label. Sometimes, connecting to third-party can be tricky, but our training will help you connect to your existing database with ease.
7) Basics of printing
Now that we’ve helped you create the perfect label, it’s time to print! We’ll guide you through how to print your newly designed labels to make sure you have the perfect label every time.
8) Additional Training
We offer even more customized training beyond our two-hour window. As we mentioned earlier, we’re all about owning successful outcomes 100% of the time, and we want to help you every step of the way. We’re more than happy to provide all the training you need for a successful implementation.
